| THEATRE |
Theatre for everyone, stories by everyone.
Witerks grew from noticing who kept turning up. Our collaborators, audiences, and closest creative relationships were queer, neurodivergent, and often both. We celebrated that revelation and ran with it, building a company that reflects the people in the room and creates space for voices that are too often overlooked.
Theatre has long been made by people who see the world a little differently, and queer and neurodivergent artists have been central to that work for generations. Supporting theatre means supporting the people who make it what it is.
WitWerks is for everyone. We love amplifying voices we want to hear more from, championing new writing, and creating fresh, contemporary takes on much-loved classics. We are drawn to work that is smart, fun, unconventional and stories that stay with you.
Just as important as what we make is how we make it. We believe that caring for artists and collaborators creates better work, stronger teams, and braver creative choices.
Transparency is central to how we operate. We work on an open-book basis and believe in equality across our teams. All shows operate on box office splits or profit shares, with everyone paid the same. We want people to feel respected, valued, and supported at every stage of making work with us.
Chance Dean (she/her) - Co-founder & Creative Producer

Chance is the co-founder and producer of WitWerks Theatre, where she develops new projects, shapes Witwerks programming, and keeps everything moving behind the scenes. She graduated from LSBU with a degree in Theatre Practice: Creative Producing and has been involved in theatre all her life. Alongside producing, Chance also writes plays that celebrate friendship, nightlife and communities, heavily influenced by growing up in Glastonbury (yes, that one!), Somerset. She also works as an acting teacher and has a particular love for Shakespeare, cats, and the pub. When not producing, she is usually juggling multiple creative ideas and getting excited about the next thing before the current one has quite finished.

Moon Berglind (they/them) - Co-founder, Stage Manager & Technician
Moon Berglind is a stage manager and lighting and sound technician for WitWerks Theatre. Originally from Stockholm, they hold a degree in English Literature and graduated from The Academy of Creative Training in 2023, where they met Chance. Known for running some of the smoothest technical rehearsals in the land, they bring an impressive level of organisation to every room (They also always know where Chance’s phone/handbag/script is, which is helpful for everyone). They love funny theatre with interesting things to say, and are happiest when Qlab is behaving itself and the techs run on time.
Emily Wharton (she/her) - Head of Props, Costume, Set Design & Producer

Emily Rose Wharton is the head of props, costume and set design for WitWerks Theatre. Originally from Oxfordshire, Emily has a background in Art and Design and graduated from the University of Brighton in 2021, working across fibre, textiles, mixed media, and whatever else the show happens to need. There are persistent rumours that Emily may have magical powers, based on her proven ability to make or find literally anything, with highlights including full-size trees and an entire, brand-new set of Catholic priest robes. She loves working sustainably and is the person who says, “Yeah, I can sort that” to absolutely anything.
